This text is a transcript of an oral speech made by the researcher during the study day of the Higher Education Policy Network which focused on the theme ";;Globalization and Democracy.";; The text is structured around four axes: a) Globalization, b) Dimensions of Globalization, c) Globalization and West, and d) Globalization and Democracy in emerging economies. The position taken is that globalization seems, on the one hand, to be attacking democracy in the West, but on the other hand, actually strengthens democracy in emerging economies.
