Typologie des questions de l’enseignant : le cas des Travaux Pratiques de géologie
Abstract
The questions asked by the teacher in class are varied. Some questions require a simple recall of information, others stimulate reasoning. The various reasons for questioning and the combination of activities in the class can guide the discussion and help teachers to develop explanatory approaches which are appropriate in various situations in the classroom, in the laboratory or on the terrain. We examine, here, the teacher’s questions in a geological practical session at the ST4 level (master level in Earth Sciences). The analytical grid for these questions was pre-established. Reasons behind the questioning may be conceptual, empirical, pedagogic or value- or transfer-orientated. Does the interaction between these questions lead to scientific problems?
