Abstract

Social media are currently experiencing unprecedented growth and are integrated into the daily life of young people. Education cannot ignore this trend. The integration of social media in higher education and their adaptation to the needs of student learning is a major challenge. Research has shown that social media can be used for educational purposes. The technology is now well established in the higher education institutions and most universities have invested in a virtual learning environment. Social media are changing the way students live, learn and interact with their universities.
