L'enchantement dans l'enseignement

LEONIDAS SOTIROPOULOS, IOANNA BERTHOUD-PAPANDROPOULOU

Abstract

The concept of disenchantment, referring to the trend of depriving, through the flow of scientific knowledge, the world of meaning, was linked in Max Weber's oeuvre « Science as a Vocation » to education and teaching. The present article examines this concept and compares it with Piaget's concept of meaning attribution, that characterizes both the spontaneous psychological development of the child and the interactive activities of teaching. Furthermore, the article discusses how enchantment, with its wider dictionary significance, relates to education.
