Abstract

The introduction of the notion of wave function in quantum mechanics was historically done in a progressive manner, beginning with the original idea of “pilot wave” introduced by de Broglie and finishing with the interpretation of Copenhagen School. One returns here to the historical sources of this concept in order to know better its evolution along history. One believes that this method will allow understanding better the importance of the right interpretation of quantum mechanics. This study has also an educational objective in the sense that it will allow to discuss the opportunity of introducing the teaching of science history in the university programs for the future physicians, engineering physicians and teachers in high schools.
