Abstract

In this research work are approached the relations between science and technology as they emerge from the textbooks of mechanical engineering of the Vocational High School in Greece. The analysis was carried out in the light of theoretical approaches such as didactic transposition, social and professional representations, as well as didactic teaching approach based on socio-scientific questions. The main results show that the linear model, according to which technology is only an applied science as well as the socio-economic model that governs the science - technology - society relationship are the most prevalent in the textbooks analyzed. On the contrary, the occurrences of the interactive model are weak.
