Λόγια στοιχεία και μεταγλωσσικές στάσεις στην ελληνική

Περίληψη

This paper focuses on the metalinguistic positionings on scholarly forms in the conjugation paradigm of the verbs –άγω, –ιστώ / -ίσταμαι και θέτω / τίθεμαι. We study the ways the learned forms are presented and discussed in some of the main grammars and dictionaries of standard Modern Greek, as well as in articles and comments on the internet. The lack of systematicity in the textbooks studied reflects the diversity of uses and ideological stances (purist and antipurist), but also contributes to the complexity of the situation. The speakers are concerned about their language use ,discuss the various options but seem open to discussion, even if the arguments remind the diglossic past, while anti-purist positionings seem more inclined to defensive argumentation.
