Abstract

In the academic year 2014/2015, the adoption of a new active approach in procedural programming course, a module taught freshmen computer engineering program, was approved in our school ESPRIT - School of Engineering. In this article, we will detail the principles of this approach, its application and a comparison with that adopted in previous approach. In the application of this approach, we were inspired not only from the PBL (Problem Based Learning) but also the approach called “Flipped Classroom” to promote the acquisition of hard skills and soft skills. We planned for each week three sessions: a coaching session, a session for the problem situation and a lecture session to synthesize and correct exercises.
