Κατηγορίες για διαφθορά και η ανασκευή τους: Προσέγγιση βασισμένη στη γλωσσολογία σωμάτων κειμένων και στην κριτική ανάλυση λόγου

Περίληψη

In this paper we examine the discourse on political corruption, especially the accusations of corruption and the defense discourse of the accused. Focusing on the big corruption scandal related to the Greek ex-minister Tsohatzopoulos (2011-4), we analyze the articles arising from the electronic archive of the newspaper ‘Kathimerini’ using a combination of Corpus Linguistics methodological tools combined with Critical Discourse Analysis tools. Our research questions are: how is the accused presented in the newspaper, what exactly is he accused of, how does the accused present himself, how does he rebut the accusations, what is the newspaper’s stance towards the subject? Our results show that the newspaper’s discourse is biased and that the accused’s discourse is underrepresented.
