Students are citizens
Abstract
Students are members of the higher education community and have a voice in this community. This paper looks at framework within which students are citizens as well as the role of the student in higher education from the perspective of being a ‘citizen’. They along with the institution need to understand the benefits as well as the obligations this status affords both, their respective roles, perspectives and contributions but also the constraints and barriers that may be encountered.
