Οn Modern Greek studies at the Freie University of Berlin

Abstract

After a brief summary of the history of modern Greek studies in the 19th and 20th centuries at Universities inBerlin, the article presents the various activities of the Modern Greek Studies Chair at Freie Universität Berlin as a focal point of Greek language learning and as a node of teaching and research on the subject of "modern Hellenism". The emphasis lays on teaching and research interweaving initiatives both at the Institute of Greek and Latin Literature, where the Chair us located, as well as within the framework of the Center for Modern Greece (CeMoG) and its editorial program, Edition Romiosini.
