The Greek University – Now and in the Future (full text in Greek)

Abstract

This text is a transcript of an oral speech made by the professor during the study day of the Higher Education Policy Network which focused on the theme ";;;Globalization and Democracy.";;; His speech focuses on the Public University in Greece. Through his experience as Rector of the University of Patras he raises a series of questions concerning the Greek University, both as far as its role in actual Greek reality is concerned and as to its future role in Greece and in Europe. His conclusions are quite optimistic as it seems he is persuaded of the creative forces that exist in Greek universities.
