High School Graduates’ choices for higher education studies: the case of the University of Patras (full text in Greek)

Fotis Monioukas

Abstract

The analysis of the profile of the new entry students at the University of Patras highlights the plurality of their characteristics both within the institution’s departments, and between them and the new entry students at other Greek institutions. The University of Patras is preferred mainly by male students, who originate from the area in which the institution is located, and who aim to join the same professional group as their parents, who are usually highly educated. A great number of students that enter the University of Patras had placed it among their first six options for studies.
